JunkBot - Just for fun
Saturday, 22 December 2007 20:00

Just a weekend project.
The bot uses two switches as sensor and changes the direction when an obstacle is hit.

Perspective:

The wheels are moved by two cd-rom tray gearings.

The controller:

The atmega8515 is a little oversized for this simple task.

The h-bridge:

The pcb is etched by the toner transfer method.

The third wheel:

It is based on a cd-rom motor.

Cause the gearing is directly connected with ground, it collects all fuzz and hairs laying around. This will result in one gearing eventually block and the bot will drive in circles. Also there is no position information. The bot just doesn't know where it is.

Fun to watch it though.
