Skull

This is my testobject for multilayered cutting with toolchange.

This was a mess! My room looked horrible with styrofluffs all over the place. This stuff is nasty because of the electrostatic effect.

With this model I learned to use different scaled heightmaps for use with different tool diameters. The first two tries were broken after the toolchange, because I had choosen wrong tool diameter compensation. It ran into the styrofoam and I had to stop the program.

This last one got really nice. I painted it blue so it would have more contrast. Though it is styrofoam it took half a day to complete. The machine I used was the predecessor of my current machine. It was much more unstable.

The skull model had been cut in Blender3D using bool operations. I had to do this, because of my z-axis limit and just estimate the runtime of two or three times the needed layers.

More about the used heightmap script.
